Cyber security is a broad field.

This field has all kinds of paths like Open Source Intelligence for those that like to hunt down data on the Internet and connect it to other data to develop a conclusion about a cyber attack, threat actor or trend. The internet and Dark Web is full of data and insights that require a good researcher to analyze and to discover helpful information that could help prevent the next cyber attack.

So you are a Psychology major? You can help study the human behavior that leads to a better understanding of what causes humans to click on email or websites that lead to vulnerabilities or cyber compromises of their company or personal data.   You can also help to analyze and study how technology makes humans more efficient or maybe not. Does the intent of a cyber technologies purpose really enhance the humans ability to detect a cyber threat faster and more accurately. 

You can use your skills to  develop an understanding of human behavior patterns that can be distinguished from software designed to act like a human or a human that based on patterns of behavior and technology usage could have gone rogue and is now an insider threat.

If Electrical Engineering is your thing, there is a deep ocean worth of areas related to cyber that you can develop expertise.  Cyber attacks are not just software based.  An attack can occur at the component level and can be detected when electrical signals indicate a spike that is abnormal and could indicate that the device is being tasked by a rogue set of instructions that cause it to consume more power than is normal.
