This introductory course teaches MISI Academy interns the foundations associated with the DoD CMMC Maturity Framework. It prepares students to consider the CMMC and CMMC-AB authorized courses as part of their career plans as a Cyber Compliance Auditor, Consultant in cyber resilience for the Defense Industrial Base. Students learn about the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS) and get hands on access with compliance solutions and continuous monitoring and detection cyber threat applications.
Students will gain access to the MISI Academy CMMC Knowledge Accelerator tools and get a brief introduction to how the CMMC model and related compliance assessments are viewed by companies that have all of their business systems in the cloud, are IT companies, manufacturers or other service providers to the DoD. Students will get a brief introduction to the various government agencies involved in the acquisition and cybersecurity eco system such as DAU, DCMA, DC3, DoD CIO, US Cyber Command, NIST, DHS, CISA and NSA.
Prerequisites – An interest in government policy, cybersecurity compliance and compliance auditing.

Certificate: A MISI Academy Cybersecurity Policy Level 1 Certificate – CMMC-AB: At the completion of the CMMC-AB Registered Practitioner Online Course, a CMMC-AB RP Certificate. The CMMC-AB is the only authorized granter of certificates for successful completion of their authorized courses at this time. The CMMC-AB RP Certificate is industry recognized and students who pass the background check will be entered into the CMMC-AB database and receive a CMMC-AB RP registered Badge.
SOC and SIEM Fundamentals, MISI Elastic Academy – This introductory course teaches MISI Academy interns the foundations associated security operations centers (SOC) and security information and event management. The course is an online course with direct hands on experience. At completion of certain modules, students get to work alongside one of our SOC Analyst using our test defense industrial base network. Interns get to work in a group setting with our SOC and cyber threat hunting team analyze logs from selected environments.
Prerequisites – An interest in government policy, cybersecurity compliance and compliance auditing. An interest in threat hunting and analytics. Completion of the Elastic short preview courses and the online modules for the 2-3 hour online courses and hands on exercises.
Elastic Certificate: Successful completion of each of the Elastic 2-3 course modules includes and Elastic Certificate.
MISI Academy Certificate and Letter of Reference: Completion of the internship using the lab and live environment along with a successful exit interview with a MISI Academy Apprenticeship Mentor Lead designed to test the knowledge and ability of the intern to articulate various skill concepts.
