A Deep Dive into Open Source Narrative Intelligence

About The Internship

The GBC Academy seek applicants for an 4-week un-paid internship program designed for college seniors about to enter the technical workforce. This very unique cyber skills training was developed by The GBC Academy.  Its unique elements including its skills testing competition are a new approach to the art.

Interns will be immersed into real-world cyber settings focused on Open Source Narrative Intelligence. Interns will also receive the opportunity to meet and speak with cyber leaders in government and academia.

This internship is free for high school, college, university students and veterans. 

This internship is $550 USD for the general public.

To apply you will need to pay a $25 application fee, however internship fees will not be required until your application is approved.

All of our program tracks are tailored to align with Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Workforce Framework for Cybersecurity, commonly referred to as the NICE Framework, which is a nationally focused resource to help employers develop their cybersecurity workforce.

Open Source Narrative Intelligence

Narrative manipulation is a potent weapon used by adversaries around the world. Conversation moves markets. News coverage, social media, and online forums feed off each other. That feeding frenzy can have massive impacts on companies, stocks, and investors. Whether it’s competitors, biased media, foreign adversaries, or homegrown agitators, knowing who’s creating and who’s sharing a narrative can make all the difference. You will learn how using open source and other tools can help track foreign disinformation.

Track 1 : DoD Cybersecurity Policy & Compliance

The threats facing the DoD’s classified and unclassified information are on the rise as nation states attempt to outmaneuver US innovation in commercial and defense of the nation related technologies. Interns will work alongside MISI staff to assist DoD defense industrial base companies to understand and comply with DoD cybersecurity policies.

Track 2 : Security Operations Center Threat Hunting and Analytics

In this track, the intern will the fundamentals of security operations center functions, tools and daily operational processes and techniques through the MISI cloud based live SOC environment. Interns will analyze possible threats, establish courses of action to mitigate real cyber threats found on target networks, develop visualizations and so much more!

Track 3 : Open Source Narrative Intelligence
