The CyberShip journey continues! This is real work and it will vary every day. You will continue to engage with your team and do your part for our real world defense industrial base customers. Your daily engagements with the DIB could differ depending on the customer, time zone and what phase they are in their cyber compliance journey.

Syllabus: The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) is the newest DoD cybersecurity regulation to impact the entire government industrial supply base. The CMMC will create or expand a variety of cyber policy and cybersecurity technical careers. The career opportunities will include work for government agencies, but also in the over 300,000 defense suppliers to the DoD, large and small. The Congress has also requested that the DoD itself comply with the CMMC over few years. Interns who take this official online set of courses and that successfully pass the final exam will receive upon passing a basic background check the designation of CMMC Registered Practitioner (RP). An RP delivers non-certified advisory services informed by the basic training on the CMMC standard.
During your CyberShip you will use the knowledge gained from the RP course to assist in helping Defense Industrial Base companies prepare to comply with the CMMC as part of the MISI compliance and cyber teams that work with the Defense Industrial Base on a daily basis.
At least once each day you will engage with members of the MISI team as they review the CMMC compliance artifacts of Defense Industrial Base suppliers, assist with compliance questions and guidance and conduct reviews of cybersecurity polices and cybersecurity gaps found on the networks of the Defense Industrial Base companies.
CyberShip Interns who want to advance their career options can apply to take the Certified Professional (CP) or Certified Assessor (CA) credentials. An RP delivers non-certified advisory service informed by basic training on the CMMC standard. By contrast, a Certified Professional (CP) or Certified Assessor (CA) delivers advice that is based on their rigorous training on what is and is not acceptable during an actual CMMC-AB Certified Assessment
As part of your CyberShip, the CEDI MISI Academy Program will pay your registriaton fee of $500.00. Upon successful completion of the course, the exam and the cursory backgroiund check you will be entered in the CMMC-AB Marketplace as a Registered Practioner for one year.
The RP course consists of 12 modules, no longer than 2 hours each with a short exam at the end of each module.
You will be able to:
- Apply the basic knowledge of the CMMC model in cybership projects designed to assist Defense Industrial Base companies with CMMC compliance readiness
- Articulate the elements of the CMMC standard
- Execute the processes needed to navigate the CMMC readiness journey as member of the MISI compliance and cyber team
- Assist the senior MISI compliance team CMMC coaches with their efforts in supporting Defense Industiral Base companies with CMMC readiness
- Apply the knowledge and skills learned while using the CMMC Jensie compliance cloud platform

Many members of the MISI Team have taken the CMMC-AB RP course. Each day you will get a chance to talk to a MISI PM and discuss what you learned in the online modules, ask questions of the PM and get support for your CMMC-AB RP course success.
This is your chance to review with the MISI PM your thoughts and to inquire about how what you just learned is applied in the work you will be asked to perform as part of your CyberShip.
Let’s keep up the good work and keep asking questions. Your MISI PM sessions are designed to help you get through the CMMC RP course. Take full advantage of the sessions but also remember to put in the work. 
The code of professional conduct is a concept you will encounter with any serious license or certification. Any situation where your judgement will result in a determination of another individual or companies compliance.
You are almost done. Make this session productive. You are nearing the final stretch where you will take the exam. Remember, be engaged and come prepared to ask your experienced MISI PM questions about what you have learned or if you need help understanding the concepts in the CMMC RP course.
